Too Much White?

It seems that white kitchens and woodwork are all the rage lately.  They give a clean and timeless look and blend well with the grey/neutral tones that are popular now.

That being said, there are definitely some drawbacks to having white cabinets and woodwork.  The biggest complaint about white woodwork is that it shows dirt so easily.  If you have young kids or dogs that come in wet and dirty...then shake...you know what we're talking about.

Many who have white kitchens also complain that the lower cabinets get a lot of scuffs and nicks from everyday use such as kids kicking the island while they're eating breakfast, and you using your foot to close the drawer that holds the garbage.

Yes, these happen with wood-toned cabinets as well, but you just can't see them as much.

If you're looking to ease up on all the cleaning involved or your just over the whole which kitchen thing, take heart.  Wood toned cabinets and woodwork are still beautiful and can look modern and updated.

Today we'll showcase some beautiful rooms that have beautiful wood work and still look totally today.

Clean, efficient, open, warm. Now it just needs to replace a cabinet with wine storage and have the espresso bar placed to the left...and it'd be perfect.

I really like the neutrals and the layout of this room. You can just see the corner of the TV stand. Being able to layout a room to use the fireplace AND the TV is perfect!
