If you are a fan of marching bands, you will want to see the Drum Corps International tour when it hits the Bank Stadium on Saturday with DCI Minnesota. This stop on the tour features the largest lineup of World, Open and All-Age Class drum corps to take the field up to this point in the summer season.

Twenty performing corps from all over the United States will be in Minneapolis to perform starting at 3:30 pm, culminating with the Minnesota Brass taking the stage around 9:45 pm.

The Color Run

Minnesota State Fairgrounds
1265 Snelling Ave. N., St. Paul
July 12, 2015
8:30 AM, waves leaving every few minutes
Cost:  $55

Dubbed as “the Happiest 5k on the Planet,” the Color Run is known for celebrating healthiness, happiness and individuality. As you make your way through the route, you will get non-toxic paint thrown at you at each of the five kilometer markers so that when you finish the run, you are a rainbow of color. The only two rules of the run are 1). wear white when you start and 2). finish plastered in color.

If you think that’s fun, wait until the post-run party, called the Finish Festival. Enjoy music, dancing and massive color throws, creating millions of vivid color combinations.

Basilica Block Party

Basilica of St. Mary's
88 N. 17th St., Mpls
July 10 & 11, 2015
5:00 PM to 10:30 PM
Cost:  $60 one night, $100 for both

A catholic church may seem like an unlikely place to host a rock music concert, but in Minneapolis, it's a time-honored tradition.  The two-day event has been going since 1995 and features many national and local bands.  Proceeds from the event benefit the Basilica Landmark, which preserves, restores, and advances the historic Basilica of Saint Mary for all generations. In addition, a portion of all proceeds from The Basilica Block Party go to The Basilica’s St. Vincent de Paul outreach program, which provides services to those in need.
