As the fifth season of Downton Abbey begins on Sunday, you can watch the first episode, in its entirety, with a few hundred of your closest friends in the comfort of a fantastic movie theater dressed in your finest Downton attire (if you wish). That’s right, it’s a Downton Abbey viewing party on steroids.

Brought to you by Rewire, a new initiative from Twin Cities Public Television that involves smart and playful events, this event promises to be both. Imagine watching the show at the Riverview, sipping on a craft beer from Indeed Brewing (again, if you wish), and enjoying all the drama and excitement with a roomful of people. Oh, and live Tweeting is encouraged, but not required.

While a $5 donation is suggested, you can attend for free. The show – and the fun – begins at 7:00 pm and if you’d like to secure your tickets in advance you can do so by clicking here.

Parisota Hot Club plays in the vein of Django Reinhardt/Stéphane Grappelli music ( Hot Club, Gypsy Jazz, String Swing, take your pick...) mixed with '60's Pop tunes and noir style movie themes.

Live music from some of the Twin Cities finest musicians perform in the Sunken Garden Sunday's December 28 - March 1 from 4:30-6:30. The music is also piped in to the Palm Dome and North Garden for your listening and strolling enjoyment. Beer and wine available to purchase.
