Good Night, Sleep Tight

Do you ever have trouble sleeping? Did you know there are some simple things you can change in your bedroom to help you catch more z’s?

  1. What color is your room? Studies show that having your bedroom painted blue may lead to you sleeping longer. The reason is the receptors in your eyes. The color blue is associated with calm when picked up by these receptors and helps reduce blood pressure and your heart rate. That all leads to a better night’s sleep. If blue isn’t your thing try grey or another neutral color.
  2. Have you thought of adding some green to your décor? Not on the walls but with bringing plants into the room. Plants have been shown to reduce anxiety and stress. They can also help purify the air leading to better breathing which leads to better sleeping. Jasmine, Lavender, Aloe Vera and Golden Pothos are some excellent options.
  3. Turn the temp down. This may seem crazy especially with winter approaching but turning your bedroom temperature down a couple of degrees will help you sleep deeper. It sends a signal to the brain that it’s time to snuggle down and sleep.

Hopefully one of these small changes can help you feel more rested and ready for all the adventures of the next day. Good night, sleep tight.
