The City of Lakes Loppet is a cross-country ski festival featuring the beautiful trails and lakes of the Twin Cities.  Join us on the first weekend in February for this celebration of winter in Minnesota!

A loppet is loosely defined as “any long endurance race or athletic event which occurs across varied terrain.” Cross-country skiing is the name of the game, and as for the terrain? The beautiful and (currently!) snow-dusted trails around Theodore Wirth Park.

Highlights include a snow sculpture contest, several fun and challenging Loppet races (including shorter courses for children), and a “Luminary Loppet” featuring a beautiful night-time ski around Theodore Wirth Park, lit up with thousands of ice luminaries. And don’t forget to take a break from the festivities and enjoy good food and beverages at the Surly Beer and Vendor Village (hours vary by day).
