Weekend Happenings: Snowshoeing and Homebrewing

Snowshoe Basics: Intro to Snowshoeing

Staff from REI will conduct a formal "basics of snowshoeing" presentation on the hour at 1, 2, and 3 PM to teach the fundamentals of snowshoeing and answer questions. Different styles of snowshoes will be available to observe and compare. Then try out a pair of snowshoes on a guided hike (weather permitting). If you ever thought about getting into snowshoeing, this is a great introduction to the sport. Meet at the Golfview pavilion. Equipment provided. Snowshoes available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Learn the basic step-by-step process to make great beer at home from malt extract kits. Our homebrewing experts will walk you through homebrewing from the boil to bottling, covering equipment involved and the ingredients. This class will be a great help to you if you're just getting started or have made a few batches. Class will last about 90 minutes. Call to reserve a seat!

Move like an animal with simple yoga, explore for animal tracks, and go for a ride on a Norwegian kicksled. Slide like an otter and hop like a squirrel in the snow. Listen to a story, and enjoy a wintry snack. Co-led by yoga instructor Annalisa Bragg and a naturalist. Offered quarterly. Reservations required.
